UConn Researchers Hope Crustaceans Have a Solution to Red Tide
Connecticut Sea Grant has awarded "rapid response" funds to two researchers who proposed a novel approach to address an urgent problem, red tide in New England waters. UConn scientists Hans G. Dam and Senjie Lin and their laboratory staff will use lobsters and copepods, their tiny zooplankton relatives, to get a handle on how some animals have adapted to resist the red tide toxin.
